Mmmmm char dogs
Anyone who's ever seen me start a grill would probably agree that this comic is accurate. What can I say? I like a grill to be started and hot fast. Right now I have a small 14" or 16" grill, a mini Weber. Somehow I'm able to get that thing to burn 3' to 4' flames for like 10 or 20 minutes after it starts. In my defense, once the flames die down, the charcoal is a nice grey and red.

There was even one point where I set the grill itself on fire. I had bought this "real wood" charcoal, which is a pain in the ass to light, so I figured I would make certain that it would light. I doused the thing in lighter fluid, but it looked dry, so I added more. It turns out the lighter fluid was flowing out the drainage hole into the tray that catches the ashes. I of course didn't notice this until after I lit the grill. So, I swore a bit, and then figures it would be best if I lit it, instead of waiting for it to be a surprise as an ash fell into it. A match was used, and the thing burst into flames, so I had flames coming up the side, the grill was shooting up 4' flames, the wind was blowing, and then the thing finally died down and went out. Only a quarter of it was lit. I swore a lot more and poured some lighter fluid into a pourable container, and dumped it on the unlit portion of the lit fire. That burst into flames a bit, and eventually the grill was lit and good to go. Somehow I still have all my limbs and no burns.

I do love my char dogs though. That is why I brave the fire.

just another day...
"bandage that man's finger Immediately!"
"But he's having a heart attack..."
"Yeah, but he's complaining about the cut."

The story of my job.

*sigh*
